摘要
自佛经翻译到民国时期的译名研究,有两个显著特点:一是目的明确,注重实践应用,各个时期的研究成果几乎都是为了解决各自当时遇到的译名问题,以期达到译名统一的最终目的;二是理论意识逐步增强,各期的研究者都从译名实践中总结出一些规律或规则,特别是民国时期有关音译、义译的讨论和有关翻译名实、名义的讨论为后来的译名研究打下了很好的理论基础。
The studies on translation of names and terms from the period of Buddhist translation to the Republican period feature a clear practical goal for the standardization and unification of names and terms in each period and an increasing theoretical interest shown in the discussion of name and term translation rules and principles, of the merits and demerits of phonetic transcription and semantic translation, and in the exploration of the relationship between name and nature.
