摘要 本文从以使用为基础的认知语法模式和相关理论出发分析汉语词类著名的灵活现象,强调词类与句法的连续性,提出一个词类实际上囊括了具体词目、抽象词汇范畴、半抽象以及抽象构式之间的相互范畴化网络关系。词类可以在不同抽象化层次上建立,而词类的灵活用法常常可以直接被低层次单位范畴化,其心理地位取决于该用法的使用频率。 An outstanding problem in the study of Chinese grammar concerns the status of lexical categories in the structure of Chinese, which has kept Chinese linguists locked in debate for about a century due to the apparently flexible alignment between word classes and grammatical functions.Under the assumption of the usage-based approach to grammatical representation as adopted in cognitive grammar and related approaches,I argue that what is traditionally regarded as a lexical category actually embraces a network of categorizing relationships between specific lexemes, lower and higher-level lexical schemas,lexically-filled constructional schemas and fully abstract constructional schemas. On this approach, traditional lexical categories play a very limited role, for flexible uses of words are often categorized and sanctioned directly by lower-level units. The point is elaborated with illustrative analyses of several types of lexical flexibility in Chinese. The mental status of flexible uses is determined by frequency of use,and hence much of the disputes regarding categorial status would dissipate.
