摘要
关于"岳阳"名称的由来,有颜延之诗句说、幕阜山南说、巴丘山南说、"南门曰阳"说四种说法。后两种说法依据不足,前两种说法虽与岳阳行政区划由来相关,但结论又有些偏颇。岳阳作为地名,是由于颜延之诗的影响和岳州辖区内曾在幕阜山之南建过岳阳县、岳阳郡,然后南名北移,约定俗成。至于最终成为行政区划的名称,则主要是由于积淀深厚的岳阳文化的巨大影响所致。
Regarding the origin of the name of Yueyang, there are four. But the all are biased. The origin of the name of Yueyang, firstly, it was impacted by the poems of Yan Yan; secondly, in the south of Mufu mountain Yueyang County had been build there, and following the convention. At last, it named Yueyang mainly due to impaction of profound Yueyang culture.
