摘要
本文从英语在中国的本土化这一现象出发,把中国英语这一国别变体放在生态语言学的研究框架之下,通过类比的方式把生态学概念如生物群落、互利共生、物种多样性以及物竞天择、适者生存等概念与中国英语发展所需的"生态环境"作了比较。研究发现:中国英语变体的出现实现了中国本土文化与英语语言的有效"嫁接",发挥了嫁接植物强大的"双重物种优势",其存在符合事物的发展规律;中国英语的存在与发展已经成为客观事实,人为地忽视其客观存在必将对其发展带来不利影响。我们应该正视中国英语这一国别变体并为其发展创造良好的语言生态环境,从而保护世界语言生态平衡。
Based on the phenomenon of English localization in China, this paper compares the current environment of China English with some ecological terms, such as biological community, mutualism, the diversity of species, selected by the nature and only the fittest survives, etc. The main aims of this research are to put the research of English varieties especially the re- search of China English into a new research framework and to find some similarities between the developmental environment of China English and the environment of biological species. It is found that the appearance of China English has realized the graft of Chinese local culture and the English language. So there is a biological advantage of dual species in China English. As one of the important varieties of world Englishes, China English cannot be overlooked. We should provide a favorable biological environment for its development. And only by doing so can we keep the ecological balance of the world languages.
