摘要
本文阐述了生物工程在医药保健、农牧食品、化工与采矿、生物能源和环境保护等主要社会经济领域的发展现状;在此基础上分析讨论了美国、日本、西欧和其他国家发展生物工程技术的竞争态势;文章最后还展望了生物工程的进一步发展对于繁荣未来社会经济的重大意义,从而也就为我国发展生物工程提供了参考和借鉴。
