In the light of the significance of protecting the famous historical and cultural city, this paper overviews the historical and cultural resources of Nanjing City, and expounds that Nanjing Library takes on the pioneer to protect the historical and cultural city through excavating the local culture and history, enriching the characteristic collection, supporting the government decision-making, and completely innovating itself.
