Background and Objective Apotosis is a programmed cell death process which can be induced by ectoor intra-cellular signals. Recent study indicates that genesis and development of tumor results from lose control of proliferation, disdifferentiation and disbalance of apoptosis. Therefore, it is very important to study the mechanism and function of apoptosis associated gene in tumors. As we know, BAG-1 is a multifunctional, anti-apoptotic protein that interacts with a wide range of target molecules to regulate apoptosis, proliferation, transcription, metastasis and motility. BAG-1 is overexpressed in multiple cancers, including lung cancer, and associated with stage and prognosis of cancer. And it has been reported that BAG-1 can inhibit anti-cancer drug-induced apoptosis, but the mechanis has not been known clearly. The RNA interference (RNAi) approach is an efficient and widely used method for silencing specific genes and exploring their functions. The aims of this study are:to explore the effects of knockdown of BAG-1 expression by RNAi on biological behaviour of lung cancer cells and function of BAG-1 to regulate sinaling pathway.
