This article describes the first part of a collaborative project in Thuringia for the copper plating of textile materials. The result is a technology for the galvanic improvement of polyester yarns through electroless copperplating after a defined pre-treatment and to increase the copper layer galvanieally to achieve a copper plated thread with defined properties.
