摘要
由于读者不同的文化修养、知识水平、生活阅历、鉴赏水平等,对谭恩美作品《喜福会》文本的理解、阐释和评价产生了差异。生活在异己的主流文化中的华裔读者认为谭恩美在作品中加深扩大了西方人对中国以及中国文化的刻板印象,削弱了华裔抗击白人种族歧视的战斗力等;生活在中国本土的专家、学者,一部分认为谭的做法是一种生存策略,一部分人则认为是"自我东方化";而问卷调查与采访则表明中国本土的普通读者从现实的层面以一种更加包容的态度来理解作者谭恩美、接受谭恩美的《喜福会》。
Because of reader＇s different cultural awareness, know-how, life experience, and appreciation etc. , they have different interpretation, illumination and evaluation to the text of Amy Tan＇ s Joy Luck Club. The Chinese American readers Who live in a dissident mainstream culture believed that Amy Tan had deepened and expanded the sterotyped image of westerners toward China and Chinese culture, weakened the fighting force of Chinese Americans against the white＇ s racial discrimination. Among the native Chinese experts and scholars, some of them thought that Tan＇ s practice was a surviving strategy ; some other held that it was a kind of ＂ self-orientalization＂. However, questionaire surveys and interviews showed that native ordinary Chinese readers interpreted and accepted Tan＇ s Joy Luck Club with a more comprehensive attitude from the perspective of reality.
