摘要
农业起源的研究具有很大的现实意义。通过对大量资料的研究分析，指出并论述了稻作起源地应具备的四个必要条件（即野生稻的古地理分布、适合的生态环境、对植物栽培性能及生态条件和农时物候的兴趣与了解、长期的人类存在和活动）和四个参考条件（包括稻作遗存、生产工具、语言学证据、民族学证据等），认为南岭地区具有这些条件，因而是我国稻作起源地的一部分。
The Nanling Moutanins of South China, mostly located between 24°and 27°N, are pereeived as an origin area of Chinese O. Sativa L. Subsp. hsien Ting. Special attention is devoted to the ecological conditions of rice-growing, as well as to archaeological, linguistic, and ethnological findings. It is suggested that 1) There was a lot of O. Sativa L. F. Spontanea along the river banks of the Xijiang, Beijiang and Dongjiang Rivers within the Nanling Mountains, from which Chinese O. Sativa L. Subs.p hsien Ting was evolved; 2) The ecosystems in the Nanling Mountains were suitable for growing Chinese O. Sativa L. Subsp. hsien Ting; 3) Maba man, the earliest human being in South China, existed since 100000 years ago and lived by hunting, fruit-gathering, and horticuture. Those ancient people started to utilize O. Sativa L. F. Spontanea since the Early Neolithic Age; 4) More and more arehaeolgiocal findings reveal that Chinese rice-growing developed in the Nanling Mountrins. The remains of rice-growing have been found as early as 5000 years B. P.; 5) Many linguistic and ethnological studies have demonstrated that the Nanling Mountains have a long history of rice-growing agriculture. A methodology for investigahng the origins of rice-growing is proposed, which emphasizes a distinction of the essential from the reference conditions. The former refer to the plalaeogeographic distribution of O. Sativa L. F. Spontanea, suitable ecosystems, experience of plant domestication, and a long time existence of human being. The latter mainly include rice-growing remains, evidences of production implements for levelling, linguistic and ethnological findings.
