摘要
介绍了表面工程的发展历程、表面工程的学科体系与特色、表面工程与维修工程、先进制造技术和国民经济发展重大关键技术的关系，提出我国表面工程今后的主要研究任务。
Development, scientific system and characteristics of surface engineering were summarized. Relations between surface engineering and maintenance engineering, advancedmanufacturing technology and key technologies in national economy were introduced. In particular, tasks of study in this field have been emphasized.
