Interleukin 18, a newly found cytokine, has many biological activities, including inducing the production of IFN γ and GM CSF, promoting the proliferation of T cells and Th1 cells, enhancing sytotoxicity of IgE and osteoclast formatiom, and so on. All these activities and functions are reviewed in this paper.
