摘要
博士学位论文的写作语言并不是一个简单的问题,它的涉及到两个原则性的大问题:一是博士论文的写作目的,二是国家的尊严、民族语言的地位。本文提出:外国语言文学专业的博士论文必须用母语写作。在明确了写作博士学位论文的目的后,学术研究能力的训练便成为我们首先关注的问题。有必要让学生和导师确立3个意识,即文献意识、问题意识和学位论文意识。只有这样,博士学位论文的撰写才有可能走上规范的道路。本文呼吁重视树立以上3个意识,以保证博士论文的质量,同时也就是保证博士生的质量。
Should doctoral candidates majoring in foreign language and literature write their doctorate dissertation in native or foreign language? The answer differs in colleges and universities in China. This paper argues that the language used in doctorate dissertation writing involves two principal issues: the aim of writing a doctorate dissertation as well as the dignity of one's nation and the position of national language. First of all, being required to write a doctorate dissertation, a doctoral candidate is trained academically. It is not his writing proficiency in a foreign language but his ability of academic study that should be tested. Furthermore, with the exception of only a few former colonies, doctorate dissertation is written in native language in practically all the countries in the world. Therefore, this paper concludes that doctoral candidates majoring in foreign language and literature must write the doctorate dissertation in native language. A relevant issue is the academic norms dominating the writing of a doctorate dissertation. This paper strongly recommends that both the doctoral candidate and the supervisor be aware of the norms governing the reference-quoting, the process of problem-raising and the intrinsic features of doctorate dissertation so as to guarantee the standardization of dissertation writing.
