摘要
笔者于2003年撰文论述了认知语言学(CL)已将其研究范围扩展到语篇层面,本文将进一步拓展CL在语篇层面的研究,尝试用Langacker(1991)的认知参照点原则来解释语篇连贯的一般情况,以及与语篇连贯密切相关的论题统领性和代词回指,这一方面拓展了认知参照点原则的解释力,另一方面又为CL以图建立一个统一的分析理论做出了一点尝试。本文还阐释了该原则所具有的"心智性"这一重要特征,它对于论题统领性和代词回指有独到的解释力。因此语篇连贯主要应从心智认知角度才能做出更为深入和透彻的解释。
The author discussed the extension of cognitive linguistics into discourse level in 2003, based on which this paper is going to further this development. trying to expound discourse coherence by means of the Principle of Cognitive Reference Point (CRP) proposed by Langacker in 1991 originally for the analysis of possessives and metonymy. This paper mainly deals with the application of this principle to the following two aspects: (1) the pronoun anaphora; (2) the dominance of gist, thus widening the explanation scope of CRP on the one hand, and on the other hand, making an attempt for the establishment of a unified analytical theory of cognitive linguistics. This paper also stresses the important feature 'mentality' of CRP, which is of special explanatory power to the pronoun anaphora and the dominance of gist. Therefore the discourse coherence can mainly be thoroughly accounted for from the viewpoint of mentality and cognition.
