诗歌翻译的"信、达、雅"——从《黄鹤楼送孟浩然之广陵》说起

摘要 试对唐诗《黄鹤楼送孟浩然之广陵》的两篇译文进行品评和比较后,我们就如何将"信、达、雅"的标准运用于诗歌翻译进行讨论,从而为诗歌翻译提供一些建设性意见。我们的初步结论是将"信、达、雅"的翻译标准运用于诗歌翻译时,译者需要进一步深化认识。要真正做到"信",必须从诗的写作背景,文化差异,功能对等等角度多方面考虑,做到"译气不译字";诗歌翻译的"达"不仅需要译诗语言通顺,还需要有对语言的创造性使用;诗歌翻译的"雅"在于译诗能够贴近原诗的形式。 This paper tries to have a discussion over the application of the well--known translation standard being faithful, coherent and elegant to poetry translation by comparing two English versions of the famous Tang Poem Farewell to Meng Haoran at Yellow Crane Tower by Libai, for the purpose of offering some constructive opinions in this regard. The conclusion is that the translator should further enhance his or her, understanding in such an attempt. In poetry translation, faithfulness cannot be attained without consideration of such elements as background information, cultural difference, functional equivalence and so on; coherence means creative employment of language besides grammaticality; elegance lies in resemblance between the target text and source text in form.
