The apparatus for the oxidative decomposition of organic compounds in supercritical water (SCW) was established and in which the decomposition of phenol in SCW was carried out at different conditions. The results show that residence time and excess oxygen rate are the main factors which affect the decomposition of phenol, that influences of temperature and pressure are not so abvious, and that the increase of concentration of phenol will not affect the decomposition rate of phenol.
