炼焦工业面临钢铁工业结构调整、环境污染严重和优质炼焦煤资源短缺的挑战，炼焦工业在近20年内必须以提高焦炭质量为中心，大力治理环境污染，为提高生存和发展能力而努力。
The cokemaking industry now meet the challenge coming from structure adjusting in iron and steel industry and from the severity of environmental pollution and the shortage of coal resources for making high quality coke. Striving for increasing its ability to survival and development in next twenty years, the cokemaking industry should be greatly focused on improvement of coke quality and on tackling the problems of environmtental pollution.
