摘要
弥尔顿从人出发认识人与神、灵魂与肉体、男女性别的关系,是对基督教文化传统的继承与创新。他强调人的自由意志和人独有的理性与信仰能力,肯定了人自身固有的主动追求至高精神的行为。他的诗作深刻揭示了人在精神层面的本质,而成为人之灵魂的伟大史诗。
Milton takes up the Man＇s standpoint and his views on the relations between human and God, body and soul, man and woman both inherit and innovate the Christian Tradition. He stresses Man＇s free will and ability to reason and believe, which enable Man to pursue the mightiest spirit. Therefore, his epics have revealed the nature of Man and become the epics of human souls.
