Out of the need to safeguard its national interest,India has been adjusting its African policy to the changes of Africa's international position. After the Second World War,India and many African countries supported each other on major international issues;and in the wake of the Cold War,when Africa's international position was much weakened,India became negligent of Africa. But since the beginning of the 21st century, with its demand in energy from Africa and trade with Africa rising,India has adjusted its African policy accordingly, once again giving more attention to Africa.
