GIS等高新技术为自然地理学的研究提供了强有力的研究手段，特别是多媒体、CAD、DTM、等正在引入GIS中，从而改变着GIS的数据采集、数据处理及成果表达的方式，深化了自然地理学的研究内容，提高了资源环境问题的研究水平，推动着自然地理学向系统工程和信息科学方向发展．
GIS and other high -tech. provide excellent methods for physical geography study.Inparticular,multimedia,CAD and DTM are introduced into GIS,which improves the patterns.of data collection,data processing and result expression. Meanwhile,the research contents ofphysical geography have been deepened and its research level has been raised thus propellingphysical geography forward in the dlrection of system engineering and information science.
