摘要
为了观察广泛分布在北美两岸及墨西哥湾的搓稚虫Streblospio benedicti Webster(多毛纲:海稚虫科)对光周期的反应,我们设计了两个2×2因子试验,把两次野外采集的搓稚虫培养在四种光、温条件下。实验结果表明,日长虽然对搓稚虫的存活率没有影响,但却影响了它一系列的生长和生殖参数。日长的渐增与恒定的长日照对生长有相似的加速作用;日长的减短导致了虫体生长的减缓。日长渐增时孵幼雌体百分数不变,每个雌体孵幼数增加;日长渐减时孵幼雌体百分数下降,雌体孵幼数却上升。搓稚虫对光周期的这种反应机制给野外种群数量的季节性变化提供了解释的依据。本文是对隐居亚纲(Sedentaria)多毛类具光周期反应的首次报道。
The polychaete Streblospio benedicti Webster were cultured under 4 combinations of both coustant and seasonally changing daylength and temperature in each of the two experiments we performed.
The results showed that survivorship of S. benedicti was unaffected by daylength, while a series of its growth and reproduction parameters were. Increasing daylength led to more rapid growth in the winter-spring transition experiment; long fixed daylength had the same effect. Decreasing daylength led to slower growth in the fall-winter transition experiment. Brood sizes increased under conditions of decreasing or inceasing daylength relative to fixed treatments. The proportion of brooding females declined under decreasing daylength but was unaffected by increasing daylength.
The conclusion is that photoperiod plays an important role in regulating the growth and reproduction of S. benedicti and may contribute 'to seasonally recruitment patterns observed in the field. Photoperiod should be incorporated into the design of lab experiments and field analyses of spioind polyaetes.
