摘要
均匀电场中的两个电体球,球面上感应电荷分布受近邻的影响,因而感应偶极矩与两球半径有关.本文用电像法确定相互接触时两球的像电荷分布,在此基础上分别求解了球对的纵向和横向仍极矩,并将其简洁地表示成两球半径的函数.讨论中我们要求球对的总感应电荷为零,从而使我们的结果比以往的讨论更具一般性.
The induced charge distributions on two touching metallie spheres,immersed in uniform electric field,are influenced by the mutual interactions between the spheres. This influence depends in a complicated way on their radii and the orientation of the external field. In this paper,the image method is applied to this electrostatic problem. The image charges are determined exactly. The longitudinal and transverse dipole moments of the pair are derived,respectively. Here, thetotal induced charge of the pair is required to be zero. Hence our results have the generality compared with previous discussions.
