Prof.Chen Yinque,in the 5 th chapter of his An Anecdotal Biography of Liu Rushi, renders evidences to prove that Monk Wu Ke,whose secular name is Fang Yizhi, was in Jinling in the fourteenth year of Emperor Shun Zhi's reign(1657),expecting Zheng Chenggong's fleet to advance to the Yangtze River.Stimulated by Prof.Chen's discovery, the present article tries to clarify the meaning of 'Guangdong Censure' in the process of 'restoring the Ming monarch' promoted by Fang Yizhi in the tenth year of the Emperor Kang Xi's reign(1671).Zeng Can,an adherent to the overthrown Ming Dynasty, wrote The Six-pine-tree Hall Collection,in whose Book 12 there is the 'Preface to the Poems by Master Shilian,' saying that 'Master Wu Ke had almost encountered a disaster from his writings.' However, these lines were deleted later when the preface appeared in Writings of Parting from the Six-pine-tree Hall, which shows that the 'Guangdong Censure' on Fang Yizhi was actually a literary inquisition by the imperial court.
