摘要
麦克卢汉的媒介理论偏激而又深刻,为我们凸显了媒介本身。麦克卢汉是历史学家而不是预言家,他对未来表示乐观,他认为人在媒介技术面前可以有所作为的,并提供了两种理解媒介的工具:后视镜和艺术。因此,本文认为我们把他的理论斥为媒介决定论是有失公允的,需要重新阐释和评价。
It is necessary to re-explain and re-evaluate McLuhan＇s theory. By analyzing deeply his philosophic opinion on media technology, this article holds that it is a radical but profound theory which emphasizes media themselves. He is a historian, not a prophet, and optimistic towards future. And it is improper for us to label his theory as ＂media determinism＂.
