摘要
介绍了图象压缩技术中的两个重要国际标准 JPEG 标准和 MPEG 标准,阐述了图像压缩技术的发展与现状。对于静止图像,总结了传统的压缩技术及基于感知熵理论的第二代编码方法的特点,简单分析了运动图像的特点和压缩技术。JPEG 标准和 MPEG 标准将成为图像压缩技术实现标准化和通用化的重要里程碑。
Image compression(IC)standard of JPEG and MPEG and the development of IC tech- niques are introduced.Several compression techniques for traditional IC and the properties of Second generation coding method based on perceptual entropy are described for still image. The properties and IC techniques are analysed for video image.The standards will be the cor- nerstone for the realization of standardization and generalization of IC techniques.
