全球化语境中人们普遍有文化身份的迷失感。通过分析谭恩美的成名作《喜福会》小说中展现的母女之间的矛盾冲突正好集中反映了两种文化的相互冲突。移民身份不可避免的双重性成为了这部小说批评和关注的焦点。小说以母女的相互谅解结束,暗示了中西文化从冲突到和解的这样一个过程,阐释了全球化并不是西方化或美国化。它是一种趋势或过程,是不同民族之间紧密的交流与对话。
The loss of cultural identification is common in globalization context. The conflict between two cultures is perfectly refleted in The Joy Luck Club, which Amy Tan is famous for. The inevitable double character of the immigrant make the novel focused. It ended in the understanding between mother and daughter, implying the process of the western and eastern culture from conflicts to understanding. It proves that globalization is a kind of trend and intense communication and dialogue among different nations, instead of westernization or Americanizaton.
