Under the rent-sharing bargaining framework of wage determination, this paper explores the impact of international trade and finns' ability to pay on manufacturing workers' wages, using Zhe-jiang Economic Census Data for the year 2004. The results reveal that there is rent-sharing mechanism significantly between capital and labor, and the increase of firms' ability to pay will promote manufacturing workers' wages. Although export can' t raise firms' ability to pay, it can upgrade workers' rent-sharing bargaining power, and promote wage level at last. At last, this paper discusses the wage inequality problem, and suggests that the current international trade mode will. not cause expansion of wage inequality, but industry regulation policy and foreign direct investment will possibly.
