Some N alkyl α aminobenzylenephosphonic acids were prepared directly from benzaldehyde or p nitrobenzaldehyde with amines and phosphorous acid using tetramethylenesulfone as solvent. The method offers the advantages of giving good yields, easy purification of the products, simplicity and rapidity.
