"得时无怠"是李斯一生所遵循的原则,以其充任丞相为界分为两个阶段。第一阶段,李斯把握住了时代的脉动,充分施展了自己的政治才华。第二阶段,李斯把"得时无怠"极端化,把它变成了自己贪禄慕荣的借口与工具。
Catching the opportunity by the forelock is the basic rule that Li Si followed all his life. It could be divided into two stages. During the early stage, Li Si afforded the opportunities very well, and at the same time he showed his talent in politics extremely. During the last stage, Li Si got into a wrong way. He made the opportunities as the excuse or the tool to get the glories and fortune for himself.
