摘要
<正>由于传统的数据库管理系统（DBMS）不能有效地对工程设计所有数据提供直接的支持,故从工程技术发展的角度看,一方面专用工程数据库管理系统（EDBMS）的研究和应用已成为开发新一代计算机辅助设计（CAD）系统的主流,另一方面是在现有的商品化的DBMS上通过必要的软件接口与图形支撑系统组成一定的联系。
This paper deals with the integration of currently used database management systems (DBMS) with graphic supporting systems by means of software interfaces. With this integration, design engineers and technicians can not only directly store and query the database, but also display graphics and data synchronously. A graphic database manager (GDBM) has been developed by the authors.
