Pearl S. Buck and Maxine Hong Kingston, two female writers different in ages and regional background, wrote cross-culturally in the roles of cultural borderers, thus producing new potentiality and atmosphere. But their fates were quite different. Buck was taken into custody in solitary border all the life, while Kingston was accepted by the main stream. What' s more, she showed a profound spiritual state and an aesthetic state in the tough immigrant history by using her mythological system to reveal America' s destroying of the humanity of the overseas Chinese during the time America excluded Chinese.
