摘要
大学对所在城市和地方经济的发展产生了相当大的效应。除了大学通过投入品的支出对当地经济产生的后向关联效应外,大学的前向关联效应对于决定一个地方的经济发展可能具有更广泛的作用。本文首先分析了大学对区域和城市经济的两种效应,然后以美国128公路为例论述了大学对地方经济的巨大作用,在此基础上对中国的大学导向型城市的建设提出一些建议。
An institution of higher education can play a significant role in economic development of the region and city. Besides the backward linkage that yields in the process that the university has an expenditure on devotion to the area, the forward linkage which proceeds with the knowledge perhaps has a great extensive impact on the economic development. This paper estimates and analyzes these two relationships, following the case with Route 128 which illustrates the magnitude economic impact of the colleges and universities thereof. The paper concludes with some public policy implication related tc the role of the university in the metropolitan economy.
