The title complex has been synthesized with o-acetamidobenzoic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) in the solvent mixture of water and methanol. It crystallizes (C30H24CdN4O7, Mt=666.95) in triclinic space group P1 with a=0.950 89(18) nm, b=1.158 1 (2)nm, c=1.497 7(3) nm; a=103.383(3)°, β=104.997(3)°,γ=103.845(3)°, V= 1.469 2(5) nm3, Dc=1.508 g-cm-3, g=2, F(000)=672, R1=0.032 6, wR2=0.070 0. The crystal structure shows that the cadmium atom is coordinated with five oxygen atoms from two o-acetamidobenzoic acids molecules and one water molecule respectively, two nitrogen atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline, forming distorted pentagonal bipyramid coordination geometry, two isomeric complexes formed supramolecular structure through hydrogen bonds and or-or stacking. The cyclic voltametric behavior of the complex is also reported. CCDC: 649414.
