Activity changes of 4 antioxidative enzymes in soybean(Glycine max L)and kidney bean(Phaseolus vulgaris L)leaves exposed to HF were studied with artificial fumigation. It showed that, there had been high difference in sensitivity to HF:Superoxide dismutase (SOD) was the most susceptible enzyme among them, followed by none-speciflc peroxidase(N-POD) and ascorbate spe cif ic peroxidase (A-POD) respectively. However, less change was observed in the activity of catalase (CAT) during fumigation. For 2 kinds of plants, the antioxidative enzymes in soybean were more fluoride-sensitive than in kidney bean. For the stages of plant's growth, these enzymes' activity in anthesis was inhibited more than that in seedlings. From these difference,it was proposed that ac tivity's loss of SOD、A-POD and N-POD caused by HF related to fluoride-induced injury in plants.
