《大唐西游记》的创作者抛弃传统历史纪录片照本宣科的讲述方式,拨开历史的迷雾,独家解读玄奘传奇的一生当中众多不为人知的秘密。13岁的少年玄奘为什么能够破格剃度?西行路上,玄奘为什么在唐朝西部边关凉州城逗留了一个多月?纪录片创作者在讲述传奇故事的过程中不时停下脚步,以历史探索者的视角重新审视故事当中的种种细节。对于具有争议的历史谜团,纪录片创作者或出其不意地链接看似无关的历史事件,或多方举证古今中外的专家观点,或从史书的点滴记载里寻找新的论据,一部具有独特美学意蕴的历史纪录片由此形成。
The creator of the documentary Journey to the West in the Great Tang Dynasty discarded the doctrine of the traditional narrative ways of the historical documentary, revealing the historical secrets about Xuanzang's ro mantic life. Why could Xuanzang be tonsured when he was thirteen years old? On the journey to the west, why did he stay in Liangzhou, the western city of Tang, more than one month? The documentary creator often stopped when telling this legend, reviewing the details in the story by the view of the historical explorer. For the controversial points, the creator combined the seemingly inessential historical details, or quoted the views of the Chinese and foreign experts in modern or ancient times, and tried to find the new argument from the historical records.
