Based on more than 100 papers on biospeleological studies in many foreign countries, the paper summarizes the study history and the distribution of biospeleology, as well as the ecology and the evolution of cave fauna abroad. In addition,the collecting methods of cave fauna are introduced here, and the biomineralization controlled by microorganisms in caves are also discussed.
