摘要
多幕裂陆作用是指裂谷盆地在发育过程中构造作用的幕式性与脉冲性．其作用过程通常与盆地的构造格架变革、构造沉降幕、岩浆活动幕及沉积充填幕相匹配，它们实际上是多幕裂陷作用的构造、岩浆和沉积响应，因而具备构造信息。构造低架、构造沉降及沉积充填与裂陷幕发育过程基本同步，岩浆活动通常集中于两幕裂陷之间。所以重视上述盆地记录研究，有助于揭示裂陷盆地的发育过程。
Multistage episodic rifting refers to episodic and pulsed processes of tectonics occurred during a rift basin evolution. And its process usually matched the deformation of tectonic framework,the episodes of tectonic subsidence,magmatism and sedimentary filling in a rift basin,which were actually the responses to the tectonism, magmatism and sedimentation taken place during the multistage episodic rifting, thereby, they can provide some tectonic information. The tectonic framework deformation,tectonic subsidence and sedimentary filling were almost synchronous with the development of rifting; magmatism often occurred between two rifting episodes. Thus a study of the records on the western Pearl River Mouth basin is helpful for revealing the evolution history of rift basins.
