孙思邈在所著《备急千金要方》、《千金翼方》中阐述了中医治痢的理论和方法，首先提出了中药灌肠治痢以及吹药治痢，还详细论述了痢的护理与调养，为后世治痢奠定了承前启后的重要基础。
In his two books of Prescriptions Worth A Thousand Gold and its Supplements,Sun Simiao first described the treatment of dysentery by emesis and insufflation also introducing its nursing and rehabilitation measures.All these laid down the important foundation for the treatment of dysentery in later ages.
