摘要
1996年全球地震活动已从1995年的峰值开始下降。全年共发生6级以上地震114次,有4次大地震,震级至少为7.7级左右。最近4年来,全球地震逐渐加强,至1995年为一峰值,1996年的 A(b)值回落,与1994年相近。1996年,西北太平洋地震带地震相对加强,亚欧带地震则相对减弱,但中国大陆地震活动较1995年有所增强。
The global seismicity during the year 1996 began to decrease from the peak value of that of the year 1995. Altogether there were 114 earthquakes of M≥6 occurring in the world in 1996, including 4 large earthquakes with magnitudes atleast about 7.7. In the recent 4 years, the global seismicity had increased gradually. By the year 1995, it reached the peak value, then the A (b) value decreased in 1996, to a value close to that of the year 1994. In 1996, the seismicity increased in the Northwest Pa- cific seismic belt and decreased in the Eurasian seismic belt relatively, but the seismicity in the Chinese mainland increased relative to that of the year 1995.
