Conservation activities of national heritages in China recorded by the governments could be traced back to the beginning of Zhou Dynasty with jifa and shifa coming out, which had a history of more than 3100 years. The conservation of the historic celebrities' mausoleums and tombs promoted by nation began in early Han Dynasty, which had a history of about 2200 years. The earliest national standard about the range of architectural heritages conservation was made and carried out in 495 AD. This article summarizes three traditions of architectural heritage conservation in China: combining the conservation of famous mountains and rivers with that of historic celebrities, paying attention to the integrated conservation of the historic celebrities' cultural and biologic genes and that of both buildings and their surroundings.
