摘要
BIOS机制是intel X86体系的重要组成部分,但是在Linux等现代操作系统环境下,该机制显得臃肿、缺乏灵活性、同时影响包括启动时间在内的各项系统性能.在对典型系统引导和运行原理进行分析的基础上,提出将ARM等新型计算机系统中的Bootloader概念引入标准X86体系的思路.介绍了一种引导Linux操作系统内核的新方法,该方法通过取消X86体系中的BIOS结构,在保证系统稳定运行的前提下,能有效简化计算机系统结构,大幅缩短系统引导时间,提高系统性能.
BIOS is an important module in the intel X86 system. In modern operating systems, such as Linux, the mechanism is cumbersome, lack of flexibility, and impacting on various system performances, including booting time. Based on analyzing the booting and running principle in the typical system, a new method that Bootloader concept in some new kind of computer systems, such as ARM, is used into standard X86 is proposed. A new way to boot the Linux operating is introduced. Through eliminating BIOS structure in the X86 with guaranteeing the system stability, this new method can simplify the computer system structure, reduce booting time and enhance performance effectively.
