Experimental study on the removal of toluene by an electrochemical reactor

摘要 采用电化学反应器对去除甲苯废气进行了实验研究.电化学反应器由5对网状电极叠加组成,电极板间填充对甲苯具有吸附能力的活性炭颗粒作为流动电极.电解质为一定浓度的氯化钠溶液,模拟甲苯废气通过鼓泡从电化学反应器下部导入.实验考察了电流密度、停留时间以及活性炭等因素对甲苯去除效果的影响.研究发现甲苯通过反应器后能够被有效的降解,当电流密度为0.05 A/cm2,气体流量为2 000 mL/min时,反应器对质量浓度为1 300 mg/m3甲苯废气的去除率达40%以上.通过对液相产物的分析,发现甲苯降解后的主要产物为苯甲酸. The removal of toluene was experimentally investigated by using an electrochemical reactor. The electrochemical reactor consists of 5 pairs of stacked Ti-based mesh electrodes with activated carbon particles filled as the flowing electrode. The reactor is filled with a certain concentration of sodium chloride solution as electrolyte, and a simulated gas stream with a predetermined concentration of toluene was introduced into the reactor from the bottom of the reactor. The influences of operation parameters such as current density, gas resident time and the presence of activated carbon particles on the removal of toluene were examined. It was found that toluene was effectively degraded in the reactor, and over 40% toluene was removed for an inlet toluene concentration of 1 300 mg/m^3 with an operation condition of current density 0.05 A/cm^2 and gas flow rate 2 000 mL/min. The major product from toluene degrading was confirmed to be benzoic acid.
