It has been proved that Si Sheng Decoction (SSD) may alleviate the γ ray adverse effects and have a good clinical curative effect. To probe into the mechanisms of it, we made the mice model irradiated by 137 Cs γ ray once all over the body and the effects of SSD on the number of peripheral leucocytes, marrow karyocytes and CFU S in mice were observed. The results showed that the number of marrow karyocytes could be increased by SSD and SSD could protect the hemopoietic stem cells from the damage caused by γ ray. The study in vitro also suggested that SSD enhance the production of G CFU in human marrow. According to the results, we infer that some factors exist in SSD, which promots the proliferation and differentiation of the hemopoietic stem cells in marrow. It is one of the mechanisms of alleviating the γ ray adverse effects by SSD and worth further studying what the curative factors in SSD are. The results showed that the preparation could decreased vascular endothelium permeability, reduced plasma and RBC membrane MDA contents, kept No and6 keto PGF 1α on the mormal levels, adjusted the balance of b keto PGF 1α /TXB 2α . The r between MDA and NO or permeability were very significant.
