作者观察了猪尾猴疟原虫广西株在熊猴和猕猴肝内第6、7、8天的红前期裂殖体。红前期裂殖体为椭圆形,较小,成熟裂殖体不超过30微米,含裂殖子平均约1500个。在发育过程中突出的特征是有细胞岛(Pseudocytomere)形成,完成裂体增殖时间仅8—9天。本虫株在形态及发育方面与猪尾猴疟原虫的OS株极为相似。
A description was made on the morphology and development of the pre-erythrocytic stage of Plasmodium inui Guangxi strain seen in liver biopsies and made on day 6, 7 and 8 after inoculation of sporozoites of the parasite. The pre-erythrocytic schizonts were generally ovoid in shape and considerably small, 6-day forms being an average 9.95× 13.48 urn, 7-day 12.68 × 16.47 μm and 8-day (mature forms) 15.71 × 21.29 μm in size. In the cytoplasm of these schizonts aggregated cytoplasmic flocculi and vacuoles were present. Clefts were occasionlly seen at the point when nuclrar division was nearly completed. Pseudocytomere formation was a prominent featuer of the final stage of schizogony. Mature schizonts contained about 1,500 (1219-2095) merozoites, which were 0.7-0.9 μm in diameter. The nuclei of parasitized liver cells were pushed aside, but not enlarged.It was shown that the pre-erythrocytic stage of the parasite was consistent in morphology with that of Plasmodium mm, but the comletion of its development required only 8-9 days. The time for its development corresponded closely with that of tertian malaria parasites. Among the strains of Plasmodium inui the Guangxi strain beared a strong resemblance to the OS strain in morphology and development.
