摘要
分析了重稀土石榴石HoIG的晶体结构,利用晶场作用理论计算了HoIG中Ho3+离子所受其周围离子或原子对它的晶场作用;然后根据量子力学理论,解久期方程计算了Ho3+离子基态(4f10)5I8的晶场能级和晶场波函数.计算的晶场能级结果与实验值符合得很好,为进一步研究重稀土石榴石HoIG的磁和磁光性质奠定了基础.
The crystal structure of heavier rare earth-iron garnet HoIG is analysed and the crystal field upon Ho^3+ ions in HoIG are calculated by using the crystal field theory. And then, by using quantum theory the crystal field split levels and wave functions of the ground configuration (4f^10)^5I8 of the Ho^3+ ions in HoIG are calculated. The theoretical results are in good agreement with those of experiments, and these results can provide a good base for the future study of the magnetization and of the magneto-optical effects of Ho^3+ ions in HoIG.
