摘要
上世纪二十年代初,交通银行由于经营不善,陷入了前所未有的困境之中。由于自身具备的实力、威望以及时代的需要,张謇临危受命担任交行总理一职。张謇在经营交通银行的近三年时间里:(1)安排江浙金融势力进入管理高层,逐步改变梁士诒和交通系独大的状况;(2)经营上追求稳健,逐步改变银行过分依赖政府的状况;(3)行风上追求公开和简朴,逐步改变分支行割裂以及机构膨胀的状况。虽然张謇最终在外部势力的压力下卸任,但是在他的主持下,交通银行迅速走出了危机,经营状况也大为改善。张謇为百年交通银行的延续发展作出了不可磨灭的贡献。
In the early 1920s, due to poor management, Bank of Communications was in a unprecendently tight corner. Owing to ZHANG Jian＇s economic power, prestige and the need of times, he was assigned to be the general manager of Bank of Communications. During his three years＂ service for Bank of Communications, ZHANG Jian made great efforts in the following aspects. Firstly, he arranged the economic tycoons from Jiangsu and Zhejiang into senior management, which changed the monopoly of LIANG Shi-yi and Department of Commnunications. Secondly, he pursued steady management of the Bank, and got rid of dependence on the government. Thirdly, he advocated opening and briefness for the operation of the Bank, and integrated all branches and streamlined all agencies. Though ZHANG Jian resigned finnaly due to exterior pressures, Bank of Communication shook off crises rapidly and improved its management. ZHANG Jian made indeliable contributions to the continuous development of Bank of Communications.
