The contents of heavy metals Cu, Zn, Cr and Cd in 10 formulated pig feed samples and 12 pig manure samples collected from scaled piggeries in Guangxi were determined. The results showed that the difference of heavy metal contents between formulated feed and pig manure was big, the average content of Cu, gn, Cr and Cd in formulated feed for pig was 153.4, 194.9, 5.6 and 0 mg/kg, respectively; and the content of these heavy metals in pig manures was 760.7, 1042.6, 18.9 and 1.3 mg/kg, respectively. Moreover, according to the standards for pig feeding in China and the limitations of heavy metal contents in matured compost fertilizer in Germany, the content of Cu and Zn in the formulated feeds and the manures was extremely exceeded the limitations. The results also indicated that the content of Cu, gn and Cr in pig manures was positively or significantly positively correlated to the formulated feeds for pig. Therefore, the contents of heavy metal in formulated feed of pig should be strictly controlled to decrease that content in pig manure and pollution of soil, strength the quality security of agiicultural products.
