The solidifying character and the factor of affecting the oscillation mark depth of continuously cast slab for 18-8 stainless steel are described in brief. The oscillation mark depth of continuous cast slab is reduced to 0.33 μm and can be rolled without grinding by optimizing the oscillation process of continuously cast, increasing drawing speed and oscillation frequency and choosing proper protection slag, etc.
