Objective: The effect of repetitive transaxillary brachial plexus block with different localization were observed. Methods: 324 patients were randomly divided into two groups while using the same anesthetic concentration and dose. In group A, the anesthesia was accomplished by one puncture, in a lump infusion, with gradual transposition and orienting massage, involving 730 blocks in 162 patients. In group B, It was done by one puncture and in a lump infusion, involving 670 blocks in 162 patients. Results: The anesthetic effect in group A was far superior to that observed in group B, as such parameters as inducing time, lasting time and blockage extent were concerned. Conclusion: Brachial plexus lies in the prevertebral fascia and the space under the fascia. Therefore one puncture with a lump infusion can result in effective blockage.
