A Qualitative Study of the Implementation Effect of the Chinese National Curricula for English Majors:Impact Analysis of Teaching Relevant Specialied Courses through the Medium of English

摘要 本文通过典型个案,对“用英语开设相关专业知识课程”给英语专业学生造成的影响进行了定性研究。研究表明,“用英语教授相关专知识课程”对学生的语言知识、语言技能、知识面、就业、学习兴趣、综合素质等产生了多方面的积极影响。同时本文也指出了一些消极影响,得出结论:大力推进相关专业知识课程的教学是必要的,但是,推进相关专业知识课程的教学有必要妥善解决目前教学中存在的师资缺乏与课程协调不当等问题。 A qualitative study is made of the impacts of teaching relevant specialism courses through the medium of English to English majors through a typical case. The investigation reveals that the teaching of relevant specialism courses through the medium of English has exerted positive impacts on students in such aspects like English language knowledge, English language skills, range of knowledge, employment, interest in learning, and general qualities. But some negative impacts are also pointed out in the paper. It is concluded that it is very necessary to promote the teaching of relevant specialism courses through the medium of English. However, the existing problems like the shortage of qualified teachers and coordination of courses have to be addressed properly in its implementation.
